An encouraging season opener for the #CleanFactoryTeam
The first Spanish BikeTrial Cup held in Cartagena leaves an over-the-top feeling in the team.
Last weekend's first ever Spanish BikeTrial Cup (C1) was organized by Club Trial Cartagena at the ¨Los Camachos¨ circuit. As expected, the whole #cleantrialsfamily and the #cleanfactoryteam hit the road with the paddock in tow.
In a sporting sense, Vera Barón and Borja Conejos start the season with first places in the elite category and made it clear that, once again this year, they´re going all out.
Julen Saenz is back on the pódium after the injury suffered in the last AbuDhabi World Cup, and Dani Barón got into the final, showing excellent form going into 2023´s challenges. Dominik Oswald came from Germany for this C1, tried his best, but didn't get the results he was hoping for in a circuit less suited to his riding style. We´re sure that in the Vic World Cup, Dominik will fight to get back up on the pódium. The rest of the elite riders showed off their fantastic form that the category is now experiencing.
Here are a few of our riders´ impressions.
Vera Barón
“I´m very happy with my performance in the final and have had great vibes since the first race of the season. Though I started out a bit nervous, I managed to give 100%, even beyond my expectations. Now it's time to keep training to maintain this level and be able to reach my objectives for this season.¨
Borja Conejos
¨I´m very satisfied with my performance in this first Spain Cup and C1 of the season. I've managed to maintain my level of concentration, which is what I'm working hard at. Now with my sights set on the next international date and the Vic World Cup.¨
Julen Saenz
¨I´ve had really good vibes, although, I must admit, I've hardly been able to train or prepare like I would´ve wanted to for this first date of the season. I do have some discomfort in my elbow, but knowing I can be in the TOP 6 has helped me a lot to be more optimistic heading into this season.¨
¨My objective for this race was to see if the discomfort would allow me to complete the second round of the semi-final. In the end, I felt a lot better than I had expected, and managed to stay in-zone at a good pace, get pretty good scores, and negotiate the technical areas. Now I need to rack up hours on the bike and train to the max with the Vic World Cup in mind¨.
¨The final for me was like a godsend and, though I ran into some very technical areas that I´m not 100% up to, I´m very satisfied with the weekend overall¨
The rest of the CleanTrials Family riders also demonstrated their fantastic level and are left with great vibes. We can highlight Travis Asenjo´s victory in the Cadet category and the high level of riding shown by Alba Riera, who scratched out a well-deserved second place in the womens´ elite category.
As always, the CleanTrials Paddock took part with the best atmosphere during the event. Many of you came out to visit us: Thanks from here and remember our paddock is your home!
